Perhentian Islands

Crystal clear waters, pristine coral reefs, and white sandy beaches make these islands a tropical paradise.

About Perhentian Islands

The Perhentian Islands, consisting of Perhentian Besar (Big Perhentian) and Perhentian Kecil (Small Perhentian), are jewels of the South China Sea off the coast of northeastern Malaysia. These islands are a haven for beach lovers, snorkelers, and divers, offering some of the most beautiful coral reefs and marine life in Malaysia. Perhentian Kecil is popular among backpackers and younger travelers, while Perhentian Besar caters to families and those seeking more upscale accommodations. With no cars on the islands and limited development, visitors can experience true island life, complete with jungle trails, secluded beaches, and spectacular underwater adventures. The islands are also important nesting sites for green and hawksbill turtles, making turtle watching a popular activity.
